Live painting of Walt Disney for the TEA’s Holiday Party
Themed Entertainment Association
The Edison, Los Angeles
Senior Creative Director, Shane Grammer, had an amazing time painting live recently for the TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) holiday party at the Edison in Los Angeles! The painting was of Walt Disney and was painted from start to finish in 2 hrs. The crowd was full of Disney Imagineers, Universal Studios and many companies that are doing amazing themed attractions projects all over the world.
The painting was put up for live auction to raise money for underprivileged children in the LA area and the winning bidder was Ron Miziker (pictured to the right with Shane) from Miziker Entertainment Group. Ron worked for Disney Imagineering for years and has accomplished so many wonderful and creative things in the entertainment industry.
Shane chose to depict Walt Disney drawing Steamboat Willie in the live painting because of the impact Walt Disney has had on the theming industry. Steamboat Willie was a catalyst for Walt Disney’s success and the creation of this character impacted the entertainment and us more than we know. The TEA holiday party was an exciting and impactful event as many of our country’s most creative and impactful minds brushed elbows and networked the night away. Everyone in the theming industry is in it to create magical experiences all over the world. When it’s time to create something in front of an audience like this then what could be more inspiring than the man and cartoon, who began it all.
