I was approached by a new coffee shop that has opened up for business recently. They have a great vision to give a percentage of their profits to an organization helping underaged girls forced into the sex trade.  We talked about a mural installation on one of the main walls. Here is the concept I came up with. My goal in designing art to bring awareness and attention to the child sex trade is to be in your face about this issue. I wanted to design an installation that forces you to look at her eyes. A design that draws you in and makes you feel very uncomfortable, unsettled. Maybe to close to the issue. I believe I succeeded because the owner got back to me and very graciously said it was to edgy for his customers. Personally I agree but I can’t seem to design happy child sex trafficking art, murals, or installations. It’s modern day slavery!.

Hi I was just wondering if this mural ever happened? I’m currently researching modern slavery murals so I would love to hear if it did happen and if so where and when?

      Hi Charlotte,
Thank you for your comment. No this mural never happened. When I presented the concept to the owner it was expressed that it was to edgy for the coffee shop. At that I did not move forward with any revisions. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
